Invest in a Lifetime Roof

Looking for a roof that can outlast your building? Contact us for a free consultation on our premium metal roofing systems.

Metal roofing is the long-term investment of the roofing world. A properly installed metal roof on a Pennsylvania building can outlast the building. It handles snow loads better than any other system, sheds ice efficiently, reflects heat in summer, and requires almost no maintenance over its 40 to 70+ year lifespan.

Aqua-Tek Roofing installs standing seam and corrugated metal roofing systems across Pennsylvania for both residential and commercial properties. Our metal roofing work spans the Pocono region, the Lehigh Valley, Scranton, and the broader PA market.

Why metal roofing in Pennsylvania

  • Snow performance — Metal sheds snow rather than holding it, reducing structural load and ice damming risk.
  • Cold-climate durability — No thermal shock issues that crack asphalt-based systems over decades of freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Lifespan — A properly installed metal roof routinely lasts 50 to 70+ years. Many last longer.
  • Energy efficiency — Reflective coatings significantly reduce summer cooling costs.
  • Fire resistance — Metal is non-combustible, which can affect insurance rates in some markets.
  • Maintenance — Effectively zero compared to asphalt systems. No granule loss, no cracking.
  • Resale value — Metal roofing is a recognized premium feature for buyers.

Systems we install

Standing seam metal roofing

The premium metal roofing system. Vertical raised seams interlock and are concealed, providing a clean modern look and superior weatherproofing. Fasteners are hidden under the panels, eliminating one of the main long-term failure points of exposed-fastener systems.

Available in:

  • Galvalume (aluminum-zinc-coated steel) — most common
  • Painted steel — wide range of colors with long-life PVDF coating
  • Aluminum — for coastal areas or where corrosion resistance is the priority
  • Copper — premium architectural applications

Best for: Residential homes, commercial buildings where long-term performance and aesthetics both matter, and buildings where the metal roof is part of the design statement.

Corrugated metal roofing

The traditional exposed-fastener metal roofing system. Wave-form panels installed with screws and rubber-grommeted fasteners. More economical than standing seam, with excellent durability if properly installed and re-fastened periodically.

Available in painted steel, Galvalume, and aluminum.

Best for: Agricultural buildings, outbuildings, garages, sheds, certain commercial applications, and budget-conscious residential where metal is wanted but standing seam exceeds the budget.

Our metal roofing process

  1. Free site visit and consultation. We discuss your goals, look at the building, identify any structural considerations (does the roof framing support metal?), and recommend the right system and color.
  2. Written estimate. Detailed itemized quote covering panels, underlayment, edge metal, fasteners, sealants, and labor.
  3. Scheduling. Metal roofing projects typically schedule 4 to 12 weeks out, partly because panels are often custom-cut to length for the specific roof.
  4. Tear-off (if applicable) and substrate prep. Existing roof is removed if needed, deck is inspected, underlayment (high-temp synthetic or self-adhered ice and water barrier) is installed.
  5. Panel installation. Panels installed per manufacturer specification, with proper attention to expansion clips, edge details, valleys, and penetrations.
  6. Trim and finish. Ridge caps, hip caps, edge trim, drip edge, and snow retention systems (where appropriate for PA snow conditions) installed.
  7. Final walkthrough. We review the finished roof with you and provide warranty documentation.

Metal roof costs

Metal roofing is more expensive upfront than asphalt or membrane systems, but the lifespan delivers strong long-term value. Approximate ranges:

  • Standing seam metal: typically $12 to $20 per square foot installed.
  • Corrugated metal: typically $7 to $12 per square foot installed.
  • Premium metals (copper, zinc): priced separately and significantly higher.

Many homeowners finance metal roofing over the lifespan because the long-term value justifies it.

Snow retention — important in PA

Metal roofs shed snow efficiently, which is a feature — until you have entrances, walkways, or driveways below the roof line. We install snow guards and snow retention systems where appropriate to prevent dangerous slides. This is part of the design conversation, not an afterthought.

Warranty

Metal roofing carries:

  • Manufacturer warranty on the panels and coating, typically 30 to 50 years
  • Manufacturer warranty on the paint finish, typically 30 to 40 years
  • Our 5-year labor warranty on the installation

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about your roofing project? Here are the most common questions we answer for commercial and residential property owners across Pennsylvania.

  • Are metal roofs a good choice for Pennsylvania winters?

Metal roofing is arguably the best system for heavy snow areas. It sheds snow easily, which reduces structural loads, and it eliminates the thermal shock issues that crack asphalt roofs during freeze-thaw cycles.

  • What is the difference between standing seam and corrugated metal?

Standing seam is a premium system with vertical raised seams and concealed fasteners, offering a modern look and superior weatherproofing. Corrugated metal has a traditional wave profile and uses exposed fasteners; it is more economical but requires occasional re-fastening.

  • How long will a new metal roof last?

Metal roofing is a lifetime investment. A properly installed metal roof in PA routinely lasts 50 to 70 years or more, effectively outlasting the building itself.

  • How much does a metal roof cost to install?

Standing seam metal roofing typically costs $12 to $20 per square foot installed. Corrugated metal is more economical, generally ranging from $7 to $12 per square foot installed.

  • Do I need snow guards on a metal roof?

Yes. Because metal sheds snow so efficiently, we highly recommend installing snow guards or retention systems above walkways, driveways, and entrances to prevent dangerous “avalanches” of snow and ice.
